Contacting Built Bar about an Outstanding Order / Late Delivery

I didn't think I would write a blog post about this, but here goes! Here is some information/advice if you need to contact Built Bar about your order!

One of the Directors at Built Bar  mentioned recently that some people had been rude and abusive when calling and communicating with their employees. Whilst I understand that the delays in the processing of orders may be frustrating when you are so keen to get your hands on their products, there are a few things that you can do to make the communication a better experience for both you and the Built Bar employees.

Look for updates yourself

If you are waiting for an order / tracking number, you can help yourself by checking online for any updates.

  1. Go to BuiltBar.com
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Click the Account link at the top of the of the page to see the status of all your orders.
  4. If the order you are looking for says fulfilled and has a tracking number, go to the Couriers tracking page and check for updates.
Unfortunately once a parcel has left the Built Bar facility and is on its way to your home, it is outside of Built Bar's control.

Unfulfilled

If your order says unfulfilled please consider when your order was placed, make allowances for COVID-19 restrictions, promotion times are more busy, weekend and stat holidays when there may be no orders packaged or deliveries picked up, seasonal shipping spikes.

We have been spoilt by Amazon Prime etc. expecting deliveries within one to two business days. It wasn't that long ago that shipping would take 28 days!

I would suggest that you reach out of there is no sign of shipping in 2 weeks (10 working days) to ask if they can give you any insight into your order.

Reaching Out to Built Bar

You can reach out to Built Bar by email (reply to the email you were sent), using the form on their website (https://builtbar.com/pages/contact-us), Messenger on their website or by using Facebook Messenger from their Facebook page.

When you reach out to them, please remember:
  • The person answering your inquiry is an employee doing their job, it isn't their fault your order hasn't shipped yet, they are trying to help you!
  • Please be courteous and kind in your tone. If this person is dealing with with lots of inquiries, your nice friendly communication might just make their day a bit better.
  • If you are nice to someone (even if you have no idea who they are), they are more likely to help you than if you are rude or rant!
  • Include your name, email address used for the order, order number and the date you ordered.
  • Keep your request polite and to the point (they are probably really busy). For example, " I placed this order two weeks ago and I haven't heard anything since. Can you please give me an update on how it is proceeding?"
  • Add some small talk that lets the person know that you appreciate them helping you. For example, "I know that you are really busy after the latest promotion, I really appreciate you looking into this for me."
  • If you write something and you think it could be taken the wrong way, it probably will be. If you have any doubts about what you have written, please rewrite it and soften the tone. If in doubt, leave it out!
  • Remember to thank the person for looking into it.
  • End your communication politely (Kind Regards, Louise or Thank you, Louise or something similar).
